My good friend Karen now works at SJU in Philly! She's so close! She came to visit one weekend...and we had a blast! =)
Our friend Joe had us all sign up for the "Spartan Race" for his birthday. A 5K course with 12 or 13 obstacles. It was challenging, especially since I just got a cold...but it was FUN! Never thought I'd climb under barbed wire, that's for sure! Look at how dirty I am! And the other pic is with our friend/neighbor Sameer and his son, and the birthday boy Joe.
Clinic FLEW by! It was a lot of fun and I learned a LOT! Before it ended, Matt and I had the opportunity to go on the clinic's annual trip to Six Flags! It was fun!
Clinic ended and I had a nice little break. Matt took some time off and we road-tripped to the Midwest to see family and friends. It was SO much fun to see everyone that we miss so much! Even the dogs had a blast...and were GREAT little travelers in the car!
The pups were worn out with all the space and grass to run around in NF, Ohio! We all enjoyed the relaxation and warm weather! It was great to see the family and also take advantage of Dairy Queen... =)
Random comment - Finn's seizures seem to be under control! He had a change in food and is on some medications...and is doing well! =)
In IL we got to see a lot of family and a lot of friends. We even had puppy play dates. We also had the chance to see the Hart's soon to be new home and their new town (and even an apple orchard!). We celebrated Maya's and Mike's birthdays (Sept 2nd) and even brought presents for Paxton and Dad's birthdays (Sept 26th). HAPPY BIRTHDAYS!!! =) There was lots of good food including deep dish pizza, the Dairy Bar, and multiple trips to Caribou. I also ran a race in Chicago-land, where I actually placed 3rd in my age group (out of 9...but STILL!) and got a prize! Woot!
On our way back through, we stopped in Toledo and saw a lot of our friends at the park. It was SO great! It's also so fun to see the cute new additions and how much they have grown! Conor is getting so big, and we luckily had the chance to meet little 3 wk old Mason! It was so great to see our friends. We miss them so much, and it's especially hard in the fall when they are tailgating and enjoying UT football without us!
Also on our way back through, Aunt Kathy cut my hair! And she did a fantastic job! I'm super pleased with it. Here's a windblown dorky pic of me, but I think it's a pretty good picture of the hair. Layers for the first time EVER and bangs for the first time in like 10 years. I love it. THANKS KATHY!
Also, if you haven't heard yet, I got a job this fall...I am officially an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the NY cast of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. It'll be a busy fall but I'm so excited for this opportunity!
Well, if you've hung on this long, thanks for checking in, and leave comments! ;-) I'll try and not make it so long before the next post! Until next time...
